Ask anybody with limited knowledge of equestrian matters how many different horses there are and you are likely to face some obvious guesses, from Shire horse to racehorse.  Indeed, even some within the equestrian sector may struggle to list every single breed of horse without missing the odd one.  However, when it comes to planning policy, Rebecca Roberts, rural expert at Bruton Knowles (BK) explains that there are only six types of horse to worry about and correctly navigating the system could well make or break a planning application or change of use.

Rural assets still appealing despite being bitten by the crunch

Farmers could be forgiven for thinking that rural assets are about to follow other commodities in a strong downward spiral, as the credit crunch begins to bite.  However Gavin Loynes predicts that rural assets will still provide a strong return as we start the New Year, as demand outstrips supply and confidence in other commodities remains comparatively weaker.
