The former office of Fortis Insurance is being offered for sale.
The main office building at 69 London Road in Gloucester offers 43,248 sq ft of office space on a prime site close to the city centre and is available to buy or to let. In addition the adjacent site at 67 London Road, which comprises a three storey 7,000 sq ft annexe building, is available for redevelopment. The 0.91 acre (0.38 hectare) site, on the junction of London Road and Heathville Road, comprises an office building of over 40,000 sq ft which was originally constructed in the 1970s but has since been refurbished. The accommodation is spread across five floors and has been partitioned to create open plan areas, meeting rooms and individual offices. Peter Foyle, Partner at Bruton Knowles appraises the site, “This is a rare opportunity to purchase a substantial office building of more than 40,000 sq ft in the city centre. The building is well maintained and offers spacious office accommodation in a convenient location less than half a mile from the city centre. The site also benefits from on site parking for 52 cars. London Road is one of the main arterial routes leading into and out of the city and is within four miles of the M5 which provides good transport links to the Midlands and South West. Gloucester will undergo significant re-development following the announcement of regeneration plans promoted by the Gloucester Heritage Urban Regeneration Company (GHURC) and will see a £200m revamp of the Quays. The offices at 67-69 London Road will benefit from this planned regeneration as it will create increased confidence in Gloucester as a business location.” Shaun Astley, Operations Director of Fortis Insurance comments on the building, “This site has been a good location for Fortis Insurance, allowing us to consolidate and expand our business. Gloucester has proved excellent for recruiting and retaining staff and I believe this building offers an excellent opportunity for a major occupier requiring prominent and flexible accommodation which has good links to the wider region.” As a result of continuous growth, Fortis Insurance is moving in the late summer 2007 to new premises in Gloucester, which will have the capacity to accommodate up to 650 staff. |
