Freehold deal points to confidence in Tewkesbury property market PDF Print
Wednesday, 28 November 2007
Two adjacent industrial buildings on Gannaway Lane in the Newtown Industrial Estate in Tewkesbury have sold for re-development through property consultants Bruton Knowles, pointing to confidence in the Tewkesbury property market.

The two adjacent B1/B2 industrial units with floor space of 336.3 sq m (3,620 sq ft) and 268.5 sq m (2,244 sq ft) were on the market for offers in the region of £700,000. Both properties were sold to the same private investor in a deal which completed within just five weeks.

Commenting on the sale, Julian Capewell from Bruton Knowles’ Gloucester office says: “Despite the uncertainty in the wider economy which is obviously impacting on confidence in some sectors of the property market, this deal provides evidence of an underlying healthy demand for industrial units in this area.

“Businesses and investors looking at Gloucestershire are aware of the excellent business opportunities across the region and are attracted by the excellent motorway links. The units on Gannaway Lane in Tewkesbury benefit from very close proximity to junction 9 of the M5, providing excellent access to both the South West and West Midlands business markets.”

“Furthermore, it is encouraging to see that businesses and investors are seeking out opportunities in Tewkesbury which is very much ‘open for business’ following the summer floods. The Gannaway Lane area was not affected by the floods and indeed the majority of commercial areas in Tewkesbury were less severely affected by the floods than the farming community and local residents.”
