Property professionals across north of England attend Bruton Knowles and O’Rourke Reid event in Northallerton

Over 50 professionals involved in Commercial Property Development across the North of England attended a topical event hosted by Bruton Knowles and legal services provider O’Rourke Reid in Northallerton, North Yorkshire on 11th October last.  Landowners, planning consultants, architects and accountants all gathered for the topical seminar ‘Development – Going beyond the traditional boundaries’ to discuss a broad range of issues faced by property professionals in today’s development market.

Speakers included Philip Boothroyd, head of Bruton Knowles’ Northallerton office and expert on major development agreements and land disposal; Christopher Sayer, partner in O’Rourke Reid’s commercial property department; and Elizabeth Whitaker, expert in private client conveyancing at O’Rourke Reid.  All speakers drew on their extensive experience in the property market to offer practical hands-on guidance for managing and maximising value from property portfolios.

The event covered a range of development issues including selecting the right development vehicle and structuring a development project to balance the interests of all involved; the best strategies and techniques for maximising value from disposals in the current market and advice on the different types of overage agreements and securities appropriate to short and long term development land.

Philip Boothroyd, head of the Northallerton office of Bruton Knowles commented on the success of the event: “We were delighted that so many landowners and professionals from across the region could join us at this joint event. It was a great opportunity to meet other professionals from across the region, share experiences and help steer the debate on key issues in today’s more challenging property market.”
