Four of Gloucestershire’s leading businesses working with the commercial property sector spanning accountancy, chartered surveying, law and finance will be hosting a free afternoon seminar on the threats and opportunities facing the region’s commercial property market during the credit crunch, at Hatherley Manor Hotel in Gloucester on Tuesday 8 July at 4.00pm.
The seminar titled ‘Property – Blue skies or stormy weather: what lies ahead?’ will feature expert presentations from Hazlewoods, Bruton Knowles, BPE and Royal Bank of Scotland to offer market insight to those who occupy, own and develop commercial property and those who advise them. With a new and more challenging economic era ahead, the event will highlight how the region’s market has changed in response to new economic conditions and explore whether the worst is over. For those working in the sector, it will offer insight into how they can prepare for the challenges and opportunities that face them over the next 12 to 18 months. Topics to be covered include: what is happening to property prices locally? What impact is the wider economy having on the region? What property tax issues and opportunities need to be considered in this new climate? What are the legal issues that are becoming pressing in this evolving market? What are we likely to face over the coming year and more. Experts will also be on hand to answer individual questions from delegates. Speaker Bill Owen from Bruton Knowles appraises the market: “We know from past experience that the property market does adjust itself to underlying financial trends. The last time commercial property values fell as substantially as they did in 2007 was in the early 1990s – but since then UK commercial property had delivered positive returns every year since. “The important thing in a changing market is to stay in touch with it, to ensure that you are making informed decisions about transactions and commercial activity. This is why we believe this seminar will prove particularly valuable to a wide range of occupiers, owners and developers at this point in time.” David Pierce of local accountants Hazlewoods LLP says: “Understanding how the market has evolved regionally and how the economy is likely to continue to affect commercial property should help owners, investors and developers to make decisions about the assets they hold, those they plan to dispose of or acquire. We will be shedding light on the tax opportunities and myriad of issues which need to be considered for commercial property.” For more information on this free seminar at Hatherley Manor Hotel in Gloucester on Tuesday 8 July at 4.00pm. or to book a place please contact Helen Carter at Hazlewoods LLP via email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . |
