Based at Bruton Knowles’ head office in Gloucester, Bruce will lead the team of compulsory purchase and easement & wayleave surveyors who work across the firm’s eight offices.

The experts provide specialist services and consultancy support for major utilities and public sector clients across the UK including Network Rail, Central Networks, National Grid, Sheffield County Council and Warwickshire County Council.

Bruce has nearly two decades of experience working in compulsory purchase, having started his career in the Valuation Office Agency (VOA), where he was involved in delivering major schemes such as the Second Severn Crossing in South Wales and widening of the M5 motorway and in the South West.

Prior to joining Bruton Knowles Bruce Fowler worked for WS Atkins as a specialist valuer involved in compensation issues on the entire A417/419 Trunk Road Improvement (Cirencester bypass) in Gloucestershire and the Oxford Southern bypass.

Patrick Downes, partner and business development director at Bruton Knowles comments, “Our compensation and compulsory purchase team has become one of the largest and most skilled in the country.  With a wide range of traditional work from utility and public sector clients, balanced by relatively new areas of work like urban regeneration, our experts have been involved in the delivery of some of the UK’s most important infrastructure projects.  Bruce’s well deserved promotion forms a key part of our plans to build on this success and to expand the team.”

Bruce Fowler comments on his new role, “I am delighted to be working with such a skilled team of individuals.  Bruton Knowles is one of only a small number of national property consultancies which has a specialist compensation and compulsory purchase team in-house.  We are in an almost unique position; we have the expertise and can provide it in an expedient and cost effective manner, to meet the needs of even the most demanding projects.  Consequently we have become a key partner for many utilities and public sector clients.”
