Rural expert boosts Bruton Knowles team in Nottingham
The Nottingham office welcomes rural property specialist, Christian Green. Joining with nearly a decade of rural property experience, Christian will be offering the full range of rural property services to existing Bruton Knowles clients, as well as winning and advising new clients across the region’s rural marketplace.

From a farming background, Christian worked for rural surveyors Bagshaws in the Midlands straight after graduating from agricultural college, Harper Adams. He then joined J.C.Bamford Group as property manager with responsibility for the entire UK portfolio of properties. Prior to joining Bruton Knowles at the beginning of the year, Christian worked for Severn Trent Water where he advised on the utility’s strategic land and planning programme.

Christian comments on his new agency role: “I am delighted to be joining this successful property team in Nottingham. With an established and growing client base across the key property sectors throughout the Midlands and South Yorkshire, Bruton Knowles has established a strong reputation and increasing profile. I am looking forward to working with the skilled and experienced individuals here, and in particular using my specialist rural skills to enhance Bruton Knowles’ offering in the region and grow the rural client base.”

Christian joins the expanding Nottingham team at a busy time for the rural market, which has proven more resilient during the current economic downturn and he is keen to help clients make the most of the opportunities in the sector. He comments: “Farming has proven to be a stable marketplace and agricultural land and assets have represented good investment in this difficult economic climate. For instance, market evidence shows that farmland values recovered quickly from the lows experienced during the credit crunch and were back to record highs by the end of 2009. I am looking forward to helping clients maximise the potential from rural land and property – whether it is buying, selling or managing assets.”

One of Christian’s first instructions at Bruton Knowles is to oversee the marketing and sale of 15 hectares (38 acres) of woodland, located off the main A46 Fosse Way near Cotgrave in Nottinghamshire. The sizeable plot, which comprises woodland and open grassland, benefits from excellent transport links and would make an ideal location for leisure and outdoor pursuit uses. The woodland has recently gone on the market, resulting in a good level of interest from potential purchasers.

Commenting on Christian’s appointment, James Bailey, head of the Nottingham office comments: "We are delighted to welcome Christian to the team. He brings a wealth of rural expertise which will increase our service offering for our farmer and landowner clients. Having already worked in the region, he has a good knowledge of the regional marketplace and his skills will be invaluable as we drive the rural business forward.”

Bruton Knowles’ multi-disciplinary team advises all nature of clients across the public, private, utility, rural and non profit sectors, covering professional, agency, development, investment, management and specialist compensation and compulsory purchase expertise. Clients include Framework Housing Association, Central Networks, EON Plc, Sheffield City Council, Marstons Plc, Bhatia Best Solicitors and Starbucks.
