Top marks in government supplier ratings
Wednesday, 10 October 2007
Bruton Knowles has achieved the top rating of ‘excellent’ for the quality of its property services and consultancy delivered to government departments, local authorities and public sector bodies across the UK.

A very high score was allocated to Bruton Knowles by OGCbuying.solutions, the executive agency of the Office of Government Commerce (OGC), as part of its annual vendor rating survey for all Estates and Property Management Service framework holders.

Bruton Knowles was selected by OGCbuying.solutions back in 2004 as one of only seven approved advisors to provide estates and professional services to public sector bodies. The framework arrangement reduces the time it takes for public sector procurers to select suppliers and crucially delivers cost savings by using economies of scale, reducing waste and promoting best practice. As approved advisors on the framework, Bruton Knowles can be appointed almost immediately as the firm has already taken part in a rigorous tendering process by OGCbuying.solutions, and has been rated for quality, price, competiveness and compliance with statutory requirements.

In order to ensure the highest levels of quality and customer service, OGCbuying.solutions conducts an annual vendor rating programme to monitor, evaluate and improve the performance and competitiveness of approved suppliers. In the latest survey, Bruton Knowles performed exceptionally well on the quality of its customer service, its responsiveness to OGCbuying.solutions and clients, delivery of consistently low costs, and the provision of management information to clients.

Commenting on the results, Angus Mylles, head of public sector at Bruton Knowles, said: “This is a tremendous achievement for Bruton Knowles and is testament to the high quality and client-focused service and advice we deliver to clients. It also acknowledges our strength and depth of knowledge of the public sector which has enabled us to build up a very strong position in the market over the last 25 years. We are succeeding in adding substantial value and bringing real expertise to the wider public sector.

“We were appointed to the OGC.buyingsolutions framework at its launch in 2004 and have experienced at first-hand the growing awareness across the public sector of the benefits to be reaped by this flexible procurement process. The framework agreement is no longer the preserve of major central government departments; we have seen an increasing use of the process being made by local authorities and significant interest from smaller authorities who find the framework process very cost effective.”

Bruton Knowles actively advise over 70 central government departments and agencies, local authorities, emergency services, health authorities and educational bodies on key policy areas and have a thorough understanding of the unique demands placed on local authorities and other public sector organisations.
