The Nottingham office of property consultants Bruton Knowles continues to expand with the appointment of two new graduate surveyors, who will work on a range of commercial and rural activity following the growth of the regional client base.
Stuart Hastings has joined after completing his placement year with Bruton Knowles as part of his degree in real estate management. He was studying at Nottingham Trent University and has now joined on a permanent basis and will start his Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) as well as working with the 20-strong team on a variety of projects across the East Midlands. His role will involve working with a range of public and private sector clients using a broad range of skills including valuations, landlord and tenant, disposals and acquisitions.
Stuart is looking forward to the challenge his new role will bring: “My placement year gave me a solid understanding of commercial surveying and I am delighted to have joined Bruton Knowles on a permanent basis. I have already been involved in the acquisition of several commercial development sites in the region on behalf of Bannertown Developments as well as some smaller disposals for E.ON and Central Networks. I will also be studying for my APC and the support provided by the team as I complete my qualification will be invaluable.”
Tom Parrott has also joined the Nottingham office as a graduate surveyor following two decades of working on his family farm. Following a number of years of part time study Tom has recently graduated from Harper Adams University College with a PgD in Rural Environment Amenity and Land Management (REALM), having previously graduating from Staffordshire University with an MBA. Tom’s rural background has seen him working as a farm consultant for the last six years, including two years at Promar International, a subsidiary of Genus Plc and four years on a self employed basis. He will work initially on securing wayleaves and easements for major utilities clients like E.ON.
Tom comments on his appointment: “My new role will involve me working predominantly with the Nottingham office but I will also link up with other Bruton Knowles’ teams across the country. Initially much of my time will be dedicated to negotiating wayleaves and easements, but as my role progresses I will become more involved with other areas of the business.”
James Bailey, partner and head of the Nottingham office comments: “Stuart showed particular promise and a real willingness to learn when he was with us for his placement year and Tom’s background in the rural sector and commercial experience from working in farm consultancy will be invaluable. We are always looking to invest in talented graduates and provide support whilst they are studying for their APC and both Stuart and Tom will be real assets to the company.”
