The compensation team at Bruton Knowles in Nottingham, headed by partner Nigel Billingsley, has won a two year contract for valuation and compensation work to be carried out as part of Gateway Pathfinder’s £500 million plans to revitalise Hull’s housing market.
Gateway’s regeneration scheme aims to transform neighbourhoods in Hull which, over the years, have become dilapidated and rundown. Over the next 10 – 15 years, Gateway aims to improve Hull’s residential housing offer by building thousands of new, energy efficient homes and renovating existing properties. Plans to improve transport, schools, green spaces, community and leisure facilities will be brought forward to create thriving, sustainable neighbourhoods where people choose to live, learn, work and invest. By 2020 the aim is for Hull to have a stable population, with empty property rates and house prices on a par with the regional average. Gateway Pathfinder has a number of partners who are assisting in delivering this initiative, and Bruton Knowles’ role is, predominantly, to undertake property valuation and negotiation for the acquisition of land and property required by Gateway Pathfinder. In addition, the team also provides assistance and advice to displaced commercial users in search of alternative premises. |
