Property consultants Bruton Knowles is urging local landowners to be informed and fully aware of the process after the latest Call for Sites was issued in support of the Hereford Area Plan.
Herefordshire Council has issued the Call for Sites in the city and immediate surrounding area to build on the framework which the adopted Core Strategy already sets out and support targets set for housing, employment and urban regeneration.
Paul Barton, Associate with the Bruton Knowles Gloucester office and specialist Town Planner, is keen to ensure that the landowners that do come forward understand what can be involved in the process: “There is no doubt that suitable sites have to be found in order to fulfil a pressing need for housing and employment potential but there is a technical assessment process which looks carefully at site suitability.
“Obtaining the right advice is critical before proceeding. In addition to making a representation to the call for sites, Bruton Knowles may be able to find a developer or promoter for landowners from its extensive database, to take a site through the planning system, and also offer an initial free consultation to landowners to ensure that they are fully aware of what is involved.
“This consultation will ultimately inform and shape where new housing and commercial development will take place. These sites could be plots of land suitable for housing, employment and other non-residential uses and landowners should be primed and ready to push them forward.”
The consultation begins on 20th August and will run until 8th October. The link www.herefordshire.gov.uk/HerefordAreaPlan will take you to the consultation page.
