Bruton Knowles Gloucester HQ Selects Specialists

Bruton Knowles, the national property consultancy with its headquarters in Gloucester, is expanding its team further, with the appointment of a GIS and Data Systems Manager and a Senior Building Surveyor. The new hires support the brand’s new strategy – to concentrate efforts on service delivery within key sectors, such as Utilities and Infrastructure, and better utilise current advancements in technological data collection and reporting methods.

Key to future business growth for the agency, the two new hires are Richard Gowling, who joins as GIS and Data Systems Manager, and Robert Cant, who joins as a Senior Building Surveyor.

Richard’s role will be to expand the companies’ GIS services (interactive mapping). After taking a key role with the Gloucester based branch of British Waterways (Canal & River Trust), Richard moved to Cheltenham where he has lived for the past 13 years. With a career spanning 22 years, including a chartership with the Royal Geographic Society, he is highly experienced in managing data systems and will predominately be servicing the company’s Utilities and Infrastructure sector clients.

Robert joins the Commercial team as a Senior Building Surveyor. With over 21 years of experience within the property industry, he has worked in cities across the UK from Southampton to Leeds and now Gloucester, his home town. Robert brings key industry expertise and experience to the Gloucester office, further strengthening its growing team of Surveyors.

James Bailey, Managing Partner at Bruton Knowles, comments: “With our current focus on creating growth opportunities within key sectors, namely Utilities and Infrastructure, we’re investing in recruiting those who have the specialist knowledge and skill sets to deliver a wide range of sought after services. The new knowledge acquired will bring a fresh perspective and challenge our current way of working, ultimately delivering better results for our clients.

“With Richard Gowlings’ GIS experience and track record I’m looking forward to seeing the rollout and adoption of new technologies that will allow us to expand the capabilities and services we offer, to become more efficient and creative with how we deliver content to our clients.”

Richard Gowling, GIS and Data Systems Manager at Bruton Knowles, comments: “As a highly regarded national consultancy, with a local office network, I’ve joined Bruton Knowles at an exciting time, as they seek to expand their GIS capabilities through the use of the latest ESRI (mapping) technology. The new advancements will open up a wide range of opportunities to develop and deliver new and exciting services to our clients. My focus will be on developing the geospatial and data capabilities team, whilst implementing a highly capable enterprise GIS platform.”

Robert Cant, Senior Building Surveyor at Bruton Knowles, comments: “It’s a privilege to work for a prestigious national property consultancy such as Bruton Knowles, which originates in my home town of Gloucester. With a background in project management and implementation, including skills in managing multi-function operations within the Private sector, my role will be to utilise my unique expertise and experience to continue to grow Bruton Knowles client base within key sectors.”

Alongside Richard Gowling and Rob Cant, the Bruton Knowles Gloucester office has appointed five other employees across a range of teams including Commercial, HR and Graduate.
