Landowners and farmers attending the Royal Three Counties Show to get the latest insights into land development opportunities

Landowners and farmers attending the Royal Three Counties Show (June 14-16) will be able to get the latest insights into land development opportunities across the region.

Bruton Knowles is enabling future development, planning and diversification opportunities in the countryside.

Scott Winnard a Partner in the Planning and Land Development team said: “We have decided to change the emphasis this year from our usual rural offering to highlight our expertise in bringing land forward for development.

“With so many farmers looking at opportunities to diversify their business and maximise land values, we have decided to go all out to help, giving farmers a free appraisal of their land and the opportunities it offers.

“Planning and development advice will be available across the weekend from Chartered Town Planners and Surveyors at stand 517 (Row 5 just off Avenue G).

“We specialise in land development and promotion and can help identify potential residential development and opportunities for agricultural buildings, for instance making use of Permitted Development Rights to press ahead with barn conversions for residential or commercial use.”

The Bruton Knowles’ Planning and Development team welcome the opportunity to speak with landowners looking at potential projects at the show.

Scott Winnard went on: “In the face of highly volatile farm incomes more than 60 per cent of farmers in the UK have at least one form of diversification business. A successful diversification project could generate a greater proportion of farmers’ incomes, and successful promotion of land to development, producing a step change opportunity for farming business.

“One of the most immediate ways of opening new revenue streams was through the conversion of buildings for alternative uses such as holiday or commercial lets and the firm has been successful in obtaining such consents in challenging areas by working closely with local planning authorities.”

Scott said: “Bruton Knowles operates across the Three Counties area and beyond, and advises that it is essential that landowners obtain advice before proceeding with projects, or agreeing terms with promoters or housebuilders, which is why we are making senior members of our Professional Planning and Development team available at the Royal Three Counties Show to provide free initial appraisals.”
