Bruton Knowles has raised more than £6,000 for Cancer Research UK, by climbing three mountains in under 24 hours.

Twelve members of staff from Bruton Knowles’ Birmingham office, which is based on Church Street in the city centre, took on the National Three Peaks Challenge earlier this month with the original aim of raising £2,000. This was the biggest charity challenge that the national property consultancy had ever participated in and saw the dedicated team treble their target.

During the challenge, the team climbed to the highest peaks of Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon). They completed the first of the mountains, Ben Nevis in four hours and 50 minutes followed by Scafell Pike in four hours. With just three hours and 45 minutes left to climb Snowdon, the team fought against the odds to complete the challenge with less than seven minutes to spare in the 24-hour window.

The fundraising activity is part of Bruton Knowles’ two-year campaign to raise £30,000 for Cancer Research UK. The partnership was announced at the end of last year, and staff have been working hard to raise vital funds, collecting more than £15,000 so far.

As part of the partnership with Cancer Research UK, a staff member from each Bruton Knowles office was appointed as a Charity Champion. They have been responsible for driving fundraising in their respective offices by coordinating charitable initiatives and events.

Bruton Knowles Associate, May Dudley is the Charity Champion in the Birmingham office. She said: “This was without a doubt the biggest and most gruelling challenge that anyone at Bruton Knowles had taken on before. While it was testing and very difficult at times, we all worked as a team to support and help each other, willing us all on to succeed.
