Pictured is Gareth Lay, head of Bruton Knowles’ new Shrewsbury office, with colleague Sarah Mallard.
Gareth has worked for the firm for more than ten years. Previously based in Gloucester, Gareth specialises in valuations and sales advice on rural property, acting on behalf of local authorities, utility companies, banks, rural estates and private clients.
As well as being an expert on rural property matters, Gareth also has considerable farming knowledge having grown up on a mixed farm in North Shropshire.
Gareth Lay will be supported by rural surveyor Sarah Mallard, who is joining the firm from Bagshaws, in Staffordshire, and Gavin Loynes and Paul Joseland, who will both work across Bruton Knowles’ Shrewsbury and Birmingham offices.
Gareth said: “We see Shrewsbury as a big growth area for the firm. We already have a strong foothold in the local property market, with a number of existing clients, such as The Wenlock Estate, which until now were being managed from other offices.
“The new office will give us a physical presence in Shrewsbury, enabling us to service these clients from a more centralised base, while at the same time expanding our rural property services across Shropshire and neighbouring counties.”
Established in 1862, Bruton Knowles operates 12 offices across the UK, at Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Gloucester, Guildford, London, Manchester, Northallerton, Nottingham, Shrewsbury and Taunton.
