Mike Rees has recruited Ed Merriman to help handle a steep increase in compensation, land acquisition, valuation and agency work, particularly across the Welsh farming community.
News on Ed’s appointment follows a year which has seen the Cardiff office of Bruton Knowles go from strength-to-strength and its search to bring in more top-rated talent to handle the increase in commercial property related enquiries.
A fully qualified member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Ed has a strong background in rural affairs with his family having run a dairy and beef farm on the outskirts of Saundersfoot in West Wales.
Graduating at Harper Adams University, Ed then gained experience working for a number of rural practices across South and West Wales.
He’s now looking forward to helping all those involved in the rural sector – including those from the financial sector - on all their land related issues ensuring they maximise their returns from those assets.
Ed said: “Bruton Knowles was an obvious choice for me. It operates nationally through its network of offices across the country and so benefits from a wide client base. I’m now looking forward to helping expand its reputation across Wales within the rural sector.”
Mike Rees, head of Bruton Knowles’ Welsh office added: “Coming from a farming family, Ed has a natural understanding for Wales’ rural sector. This background will serve him well as we, as a business, expand further our level of expertise in this important sector.
“We’ve enjoyed a very productive year and are actively looking for new people to join our ever expanding team.”
