Landowners are being urged not to miss the opportunity to bring forward suitable sites for development in Cheltenham.
Bruton Knowles’ Town Planner Paul Barton said: “These could be plots of land suitable for housing, employment, and even traveller sites. Landowners should be primed and ready to come forward with sites.”
Paul explained: “Cheltenham Borough Council will be seeking potential in order to prepare and deliver the Cheltenham Plan.”
Suggestions need to be with the council by 2pm on December 23 2016.
Paul added: “As always, obtaining the right advice is critical before proceeding and we can arrange free consultations. Landowners may be unaware that often developers pay for professional fees, so reducing any element of risk.
“Landowners who have already sold land for development are looking for the best investment and re-investing in land is very often the answer to avoid potential tax pitfalls.
“This process is accelerating as farmers face steadily declining commodity prices.”
“The Government has made it abundantly clear that the number of new homes being built is not sufficient to ease the simple supply and demand which is in turn keeping house prices high and out of reach for much of the population.”
