Bruton Knowles is advising Old Saltleians Rugby Club on the relocation of its ground.
The club is being forced to move due to the planned route of the new HS2 high-speed rail line.
The existing ground, which is based at Watton Lane, in Water-Orton, is situated in the centre of what will be an important intersection, known as the Delta Junction, where HS2 will split, before travelling northwards to Manchester.
Old Saltleians, which plays in the Midlands 2 West (North) Division, has been based at Watton Lane since 1954.
Bruton Knowles has been instructed by the club to advise on acquiring a site where the new ground will be built.
Ian Mercer, partner and head of development at Bruton Knowles in Birmingham, said the relocation of the Old Saltleians ground will enable the club to invest in new facilities to meet new Rugby Football Union (RFU) standards.
“The club is taking a very pragmatic approach to the relocation of its ground,” he said. “Rather than being negative and blaming HS2, it is viewing it as an opportunity to upgrade its facilities.
“The club has a close affiliation with the local community, so it’s important for it to remain in Water-Orton.”
