Vax Vice President of Sales Roger Dale shared his business mantra and provided an insight into the UK floor cleaner market – with business people from across the region at the first Three Counties Big Breakfast of 2017.
He gave business leaders and entrepreneurs an insight into the challenges faced by VAX supplying both traditional and online retailing.
Roger explained: “The arrival of true pure play retailers has challenged the dominant traditional retailers and changed the way consumers shop.”
As a result Vax, the leading floor carpet cleaner brand by items sold in the UK, is having to think differently in terms of channel managing their retail portfolio which included both Argos and Amazon.
His presentation was followed by a lively question and answer session, part of the event’s popular format which enables successful businesses from across the three counties to share valuable insights into their own vision and ambitions for the future. More than 100 guests enjoyed one of the liveliest networking events in the Three Counties and one lucky delegate from the prize draw went home with a brand new VAX carpet cleaner!
Robert Capper, head of Harrison Clark Rickerbys’ commercial team in Worcester, said: “The combination of Roger’s passion and understanding of the UK floorcare market and his dedication to customer service provided a sales lesson for everyone.”
Chris Eldridge, Marketing Director at Bruton Knowles, said: “It was interesting to hear first-hand about growth in cordless vacuums and opportunities for revenue generation.”
Ken Nottage, CEO of Three Counties, said: “We’re delighted to have welcomed Roger Dale to Three Counties Showground today for our business breakfast. Roger was an excellent and entertaining guest speaker providing an honest and open insight into VAX and the challenges they face.”
The next Big Breakfast, on Thursday 29 June, will give Chris Pockett, Head of Communications at Renishaw, the chance to share what it’s like to manage a global brand - from corporate communications to brand management and external affairs. Renishaw is one of the world's leading engineering and scientific technology companies.
