Bruton Knowles has sold Rosevale Holding, a 62.63-acre farm in Bronington, near Whitchurch, for £675,000.
The farm, on Long Lane, was sold in two lots at a farm and property auction, organised by Bruton Knowles’ Shrewsbury office.
The first lot, a detached three-bedroom house with adjoining livestock buildings and 52 acres of land, fetched £600,000, with the second lot – ten acres of bare agricultural land – selling for £75,000.
Bruton Knowles was instructed to sell the farm on behalf of Wrexham County Council.
Selling agent Gareth Lay, associate at Bruton Knowles, said the two lots generated a huge amount of interest from a range of buyers across the region.
He said: “It was great to see a packed room for the auction. Situated in an area of intensive farming activity, the holding and land appealed to a wide range of purchasers, ranging from the equestrian sector through to a significant number of farmers.
“The sale clearly indicates that there is a strong demand for land and holdings coming from within the farming sector as existing operators look to expand. Market demand owing to Brexit uncertainty does not seem to have faltered, despite reductions in the average national land values.
“The availability of low rates of finance and shortage of available land have kept the markets strong in Shropshire and North Wales.
“This sale could well serve as a catalyst for those thinking of selling to consider a disposal whilst prices remain strong.”
