Jeremy is a Planning Partner in our Birmingham office and heads up planning across Bruton Knowles’ office network. He has over 25 years of experience as a planner having worked in both local government and consultancy and has acted for a range of clients across all sectors including healthcare, education, residential, hotel and leisure related development. He has experience of both development control and development plan promotion as well as stakeholder engagement.
His specific experience includes advising clients on all aspects of planning ranging from the production of planning appraisals, pre application consultation and public engagement to the preparation, submission and monitoring of planning applications including the assembly of project teams and management of sub consultants. This work also includes the project management and preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments for the most complex developments. He also has extensive experience of promoting strategic mixed use development proposals, through the development plan process, as well as influencing emerging Local Plan policy.
Jeremy has significant appeal experience and has managed a number of successful planning appeals. He has acted as expert witness at numerous public inquiries and examinations, working closely with counsel and sub consultants in drafting proofs of evidence and presenting evidence. He also has extensive advocacy experience in presenting evidence at hearings.
